I have come across a very nice site which lists hundreds of the most useful words in five languages.

It can be used as a multi-lingual dictionary. While the words are not scientifically proven to be the most frequent words, these are definitely some of the most useful ones when traveling to a country or starting to learn a language.

This dictionary contains hundreds of words, and includes the following languages:

  • English
  • French
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese

Words are organized by categories, which include:

  • Common phrases
  • Alphabet
  • Numbers
  • Days and months
  • Time and weather
  • Colors and shapes
  • Prepositions
  • Adverbs
  • Family and pets
  • Food and meals
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Parts of the body
  • Clothing
  • House and furniture
  • Countries
  • Over 500 common verbs
  • And more

WAOW,this dictionary is going to be very useful to learners of English as a second language. The most interesting and perhaps most important aspect of it is its comparative approach,This will enable second language learners to understand the reletionship between these languages as members of the same language family.I really enjoyed going through the dictionary.I will surely recommend it to my students. Keep up the good job.
